Back to Roots Gathering Debuts in Fountain Inn

Back to Roots Gathering, an event celebrating traditional skills and community resilience, is at Barefoot Acres Farm on Saturday, September 28th. Hosted by Laura Fernandez of Front Yard Foods, Mady Hastings of Hastings Corner Farm, and Jody Prosser of Barefoot Acres, the all-day gathering promises an enriching experience for attendees of all ages.

Farm Where You Live Harvest Celebration 2023

Come out and bring the family on Saturday, October 7th, for the 2nd Farm Where You Live Harvest Celebration 2023!

Meet homestead leaders Joel Salatin from Polyface Farm, Jeremiah and Jessica Seawards from Roots & Refuge Farm, Dr. Sina McCullough, author and podcaster, and Shawn and Beth Dougherty of One-Cow Revolution.

Take advantage of the farmers market area with fresh, local, farm products or browse rows of local artisans selling their crafts at the market.

Kid-sized homesteaders will enjoy the fun with face painting, workshops, and classes just for them, and they’ll enjoy the live demonstrations happening from local farmers and homesteaders.

Get off the Grid Fest

A traveling music and sustainability festival is coming to your backyard! Unique among music festivals, GET OFF THE GRID FEST is the Southeast’s premier demonstration of the efficacy of energy independence fueled by the transformative power of music and activism. 

This 3-day extravaganza is designed to educate, entertain and empower with live music, yoga, movement, herbalism, a speaker series, roving performers, local craft vendors, artisanal food and beverages, hands-on workshops, and a robust lineup of amazing musicians and educators. 

The Sustainability Fair offers opportunities to empower your life with hands-on workshops and interactive presentations by over 50 regional practitioners in the areas of regenerative agriculture, energy and the environment, and arts and community amidst a fun upbeat atmosphere.

Offered biennially, the fourth iteration of this traveling 3-day festival will take place August 18th-20th at The Music Camp, a scenic outdoor venue with secluded waterfront groves and mature hardwoods convenient to I-85. Through June, 3-day passes are available for $125. Prices go up to $150 on July 1. Single-day passes are $50. Ages 15 and under attend for FREE when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

Camping add-ons range from $50-$150. Walk-in, car camping and RV sites are available, as well as Family Camping, Quiet Camping and Eco Camp.  Low-impact camping and primitive skills demos presented by GoSun and Firefly Gathering will take place at Eco Camp. This is an exclusive way to experience the Festival. Eco Campers receive a 3-day pass, catered meals, and a generous tent site within the main programming area for $300/ticket (one ticket admits a tent with up to 4 people). 

Applications are being accepted for eco-conscious vendors and friendly volunteers!
